Having guests at home is supposed to be good, but I don't enjoy them a lot. I belong to a country that believes guests are God's, but then God doesn't judge us right, guests do. I was raised in the home where guests were always welcome, but we would not change our lifestyle for them. We would be what we are and serve the guests what they needed. Guests at my parents place are more like family members, but my husband's family works in a different wavelength.

My husband's family takes the saying 'guests are equal to almighty' quite seriously. My husband's maternal side family are way too annoying. They would tell us a month before they have plans to come and my husband and his mother would start deep cleaning the house. We do the house cleaning drill for weeks. I fail to understand if his aunt's come to meet us or to check our hygine levels. It gets on my nerves where after weeks of cleaning they post pone their arrival giving us more time to clean 😕.
Sadly, we are expecting one of my husband's aunt tommorow and the house is impeccably clean, but then their Lazer sharp eyes will however find something to nit pick about. I have not visited any of his aunt or uncle at their place for years and if I do, I make sure that I don't question their living style. I fail to understand why some people lack the basic courtesy.
