Tibet (Tibetan: བོད་, Bod, pronounced pö according to the Lhasa dialect; Hanzi: 西藏, pinyin: Xizang) is a province of the People's Republic of China, which is a Special Autonomous Region of the PRC also named by China Xizang, located in the Himalayas often said to be the top of the world, it is bordered by Nepal, Bhutan and India as well as Xinjiang, Qinghai and Sichuan in China. The majority of the population is Buddhist, with Lhasa as the capital city.
