My New Kick Ass Double Neck Bass & Guitar! 🎸

I'm super excited - tomorrow I'm going to record & share my first jam with my new double neck bass & guitar!

Art is how I make my living, but I actually started playing guitar a long time before I started to paint. I bought my first guitar when I was 12, but I only started to paint when I was 31. Now I'm 37, so this year marks 25 years since I started to play!

I actually got this custom double neck 5 string bass and 6 string guitar in 2016. Not long after I got it, I started to get pains in my neck. The position I had to play it in was uncomfortable and combined with the bad posture I had being hunched over while I paint, and do my office work on the computer - I ended up with pinched nerves in my neck and lower back. I couldn't really play guitar much at all for months.

Then I got myself an inversion table, and found some physiotherapy exercises, stretches and some yoga postures that finally helped me get back to normal and relieve those pinched nerves.

Then I had to learn how to play bass. Even though I'd been playing guitar for years already, I needed to get comfortable playing bass. The strings on a bass are thicker than a guitar, and feel a little different. The scales are also different, and the spaces between the frets are different.

Now I finally feel comfortable enough with the bass to start recording new guitar jams with it. My guitar jams are all improvised, so I'm excited to see what'll come out. Check back tomorrow to find out!
