Hi musical steemers!
Since I started playing the guitar, kinda realized this chord was a big problem to face. But with a lot of practice, I was able to manage it. People said to me:
How do you do it?
I can´t even put my whole finger on it
Plenty of them think that playing guitar (acoustic most of all) is for people who has elongated fingers but I tell them NO. It's just letting your finger get used with your guitar until you find a way to embrace all the fretboard. And of course, most of them ended quiting playing guitar because the struggle was so hard that they though they weren´t made for playing. But I'm gonna put hope on you guys, to achieve your goal that is manage this tricky chord.
So let's start:
- Without making any chord, put your index finger on the 5th fret, touching only the first three strings (E B G)
- Try playing the strings. It has tou sound clean. If they sound mute, then tight well the strings.
- Until you manage to play them straight without problem, then play the first 4 chords and son on, upgrading one string until you finish playing the 6 strings in a row, on the 5th fret.
- Get a fret low and repeat the last steps until you manage arrive to the first fret.
When you do this, remember this is the first accomplishment. Now you have to keep the finger tight when making the F chord:
And for that, hold still your index, and arrange your other fingers, so they can adjust while you play, and then try. I asure you:
If you practice everyday, you will be able to change from C to F in a blink of an eye.
Keep in mind that this is just practice for a better goal.
