Today we will discuss common interval spacings in general. Now we are also discussing chord progressions, but the underlying architecture being discussed is derived from the intervals and modes, and the chords are nothing more than a supersystem above this architecture.
As the video discusses there are many common interval patterns that have been used in many famous songs over n' over as time goes on. Many common interval patterns have a 1, 4 & 5, which is the basis of the common twelve bar blues.
Other common interval patterns we discuss are 1, 6, 4, 5 used in many pop and doo wop songs, as well as a 6, 5, 4, as we discussed in previous posts the past few days.
Tomorrow we will discuss another interval pattern, 1, 5, 6 which FatKat N' The Lobbyists uses in a song. Tomorrow I will be filming a bunch of lessons and try to edit them all so I have regular content for you to consider subject to you post reading utility function among other substitute posts or other ways to spend you life. Once everything is copacetic and my production time minimized due to lots of content ready, I will start building the website and finish writing out my dewey decimal system to create information structures and other things to help maximize the quality of this public domain course.

I can immediately hear those tunes in my head when I see the intervals- especially the 1 6 4 5...of course the 1 4 5 is every blues song ever pretty much- or at least it’s the base of most blues songs.
Interesting article.

yep, only so many ways to arrange 12 different tones, and looking at the modes only about 7 of them really sound good together. So most songs are not very original. I suspect all interval progressions may exist in the public domain from classical music, but perhaps not.
