January 2018 I found this very late emerging Gulf Fritillary on my patio. He couldn’t fly, so I tried to give him a boost with some sugar water. His wings never fully filled out, and he never could fly. He stayed warm and fed in a critter keeper on my desk until he lived out the normally brief butterfly life span.
