So, Daniel Defense is being sued because the maniac in Uvalde used one of their guns. This should be a violation of PLACCA; but, it's not like politicians care about breaking their own laws.
The lawsuit is also being filed by a California-based firm in reaction to a shooting that happened in Texas with the stated goal being to disincentivize gun manufacturers to make AR-15s. This lawsuit isn't about justice or accountability, it's about trying to destroy the Second Amendment without the bother of legal processes.
One of the favorite workarounds in regard to PLACCA, which is being evoked here, is to attack the gun companies for their advertising and to claim that the gun companies inspired the shooter. That's pretty damn dumb. I've never seen an advertisement for a gun that said, "Buy me, and you can kill anyone to like!" Either way, this tactic is an attempt to violate our Second Amendment rights by way of violating our First Amendment rights.
We cannot stand for this.
