After the wake of yet another senseless attack on innocent people by a mentally ill individual, the gun debate begins anew. Prayers to those affected.
Its funny how people want bans on assualt type guns, or any gun for that matter or new laws that affect only law abiding people.
But yet, what these same people and lawmakers have yet to address is how these bans and new laws are going to stop criminals from get access to and use of these weapons.
Take a look at London where guns are pretty much outlawed, and who has now placed a ban on carrying knives. Yes knives because of the uptick in knife murders there, passing New York by the way in murders. It just goes to show that those who wish to do harm will always find a way.
We have to stop blaming a tool, which is what a gun is and start blaming the individual(s) who commit these heinous crimes.
Twice now the federal authorities have been aware of these individuals and nothing was done to stop them.
One was able to, (I assume) legally purchase firearms because nothing was noted on him to send up a red flag during the background check.
The second had his guns taken away after an incident at the white house, only to have them given back to his father who in turn gave them back to the shooter.
Far left or far right we need to come back together as human beings and to see that it is the individual(s) actions not the tool that are to blame for these horrendous attacks.
If we are going to blame inanimate objects for the actions of their owners and manufacturers then lets blame. Car companies for making cars that are used by drunk drivers who kill someone. Silverware manufacturers for making the devices that contribute to people dying from obesity, drug companies for manufacturing deadly drugs that cause addictions and overdoses. Well the last should be charged actually.
My point is this, we have become a society that would rather blame an inanimate object than an individual(s) for the terrible actions committed by them. By the way if you choose to disagree with some of these people it makes you a racist or an accessory to the crime because you hold a different view to theirs.
These are just my thoughts and i am sure it will cause a stir within the community.
You don't have to agree just be respectful to those of a different opinion than yours.
