I typically carry one of my S&W model 629 .44 magnum revolvers, of which I have a few with different barrel lengths. Given where I live and my general lifestyle, I figure that if I ever have to defend myself, there is a much higher probability that the aggressor will be a a bear or a wolf rather than a human, hence the need for a more powerful caliber like the .44 mag. Usually, I carry openly, but sometimes concealed, especially if I'm making a trip into town or something.

Everyday Carry / Why I carry
Hi nice to meet you, thanks for the reply. Great choice for your lifestyle, we only have black bears here in Arkansas and so far the ones I've crossed have exited faster than I could. I normally run around with a smaller caliber with six or eight shots, of course if I'm I'm traveling to the big city I'll up my capacity.
