Airsoft History

As airsoft continues to develop, so does the regulation of airsoft guns. While they’re legal throughout the US, specific cities such as Chicago, Illinois or Camden, New Jersey have much greater restrictions on their use, and New Mexico and Michigan do not allow them to be used publicly due to their high resemblance to real guns (which is part of the selling point around airsoft).

There is a store Berryhillguns which deals in all kinds of guns including Airsoft guns.

Most cities require all airsoft guns to have orange tips to distinguish them from the real thing, but it’s best to check your local regulations to see what it says about use in your area. A lot of the regulation crops up as a result of airsoft guns becoming more powerful.

A new type known as a hybrid gun has introduced a firing system similar to that of a real gun; pellets are loaded into the gun and fired out when an explosive cap is hit by a firing hammer.

This makes hybrid airsoft guns far more powerful and raises the question about where the line needs to be drawn regarding them as mere play things, especially as the military and law enforcement has begun to use airsoft to their advantage with practical application.Airsoft certainly isn’t going anywhere soon, but the future of the hobby is entirely unclear.

What new advancements will be made? What new laws will be passed to regulate it? Looks like we’ll have to stay tuned to find out.

You should also opt for a 1911 Shoulder Leather Holster to keep your Airsoft gun safe.
