With the sky being covered in bright colors, the sound of booming in the air, it seemed Auckland New Zealand had a four night sky party to let of steem.

They could of let off steem on Steemit and earnt a little instead of paying big bucks to decorate the sky for a few minutes, but gazing up, watching the bright lights it seemed all your worry's just blew away in the smoke.

Young, and Young at heart enjoy watching these displays, but the question that is on most people's lips are....
How long will the public be able to do their own firework display's?

last year the push was to ban them, but to many peoples surprise they were on sale Yippee...(That's not a sarcastic yippee either).
With the push last year it was to let them off in open spaces, not around houses, cars etc, so with this thinking people went to parks to let them off with people abusing them screaming that the police are coming as it's illegal to let them off in public places.
A public place is for all to enjoy, in Auckland the Houses are rubber necking in most area's where in some areas you can open a window and most likely touch the other persons hand from the house stretching out - maybe a little over ext-rating but they are really close.
So letting them off in your back yard is a massive safety issue, so with the uproar of last year you would think the park or beach would be the best place to let them off being open areas, it's common sense isn't, well the law changed unless you check the newspaper or watch the news you wouldn't know that the law actually changed to ban public places like parks and beaches, were you can only let fireworks off in your own back yard.

Go figure the common sense in that.
Is there another reason for this law change, If you look at Aussie you can't buy them, are they trying to do the same here, were you can only go to display's to see them, that are so over priced that is unaffordable for a family to go to an over crowed event just to wait all night to see some lights in the sky...

Will New Zealand get to see another year of fireworks displays in their own back yards?

Thank you for stopping by really appreciate it, have a fabulous Day/Evening!

I didn't see your comment till after I posted mine. My viewpoint is that of a city gal. But seeing this reminds me that not everybody lives near a city with free public displays. Always two sides to the coin...

Apparently there was a vote in some areas, in one area 3 out of 4 people agreed-ed with a ban so that ended up being 75%. Don't know who they ask to do surveys for bans, but it's not everyone.
They may just ban them in the city who know's what they will do, we'll just have to wait and see.

In Wellington, it's been great for the last couple of decades. The Sky Show is completely free. You just have to get yourself down to the waterfront or somewhere you can see the waterfront. @sift666 and I went downtown on the bus. It's still cold and windy, so wrap up warm. There are hardly any backyard displays now, which I think is a good thing. When I was a kid, there were always fires and injuries.

But our new mayor has decided that we'll only have the Sky Show at Matariki now. I can see his point, but he apparently doesn't remember why the Sky Show was started in the first place.

No free shows in Auckland so far that I've found $15 adults, $5 children, $35 family - 2 adults and 4 kids - depends where you go though as prices vary.

Jeepers, what a ripoff!

You can't bet Free, it's so jammed packed with people and you need to wait so long till they let them off, it's just not worth it, unless you go to a hill and watch before they let them off.
