The last few days of Dec and the beginning of Jan is all about festivities and there is over indulgence of food and drinks. This scene is not only during Christmas and New Year time but almost during all the festival times it is the same situation. For a week almost everyday we had a party to attend, some of them at our friend's places and some were organized outdoors, and every time I would go I had to mentally firm up to myself that I will not be over indulging into food and drinks.
To be on the safer end, I would avoid drinking and stick to just normal water. At times I was getting tempted but then I had to mentally keep telling myself, this is not good for my body and it is toxic. Food is something I could not avoid completely, but I made it a point to not overeat and stick to healthy options as much as possible. But then in a restaurant you can never really be very picky because not every ingredient they use has a health thought in it.
Even after refraining so much I was feeling like I had over indulged and not feeling very good from within, so then last 2 days I went on a complete liquid diet and after that now I feel that my body is back to normal. It was not just the diet but also other lifestyle factors like sleep, exercise and all which also goes for a toss during these times.
Last night I was watching the documentary of Bryan Johnson, he is quite inspiring and at the same time I feel it is too much that he does, as the science says he is currently the most measured human in the world through his project Blueprint which is all about age reversing. The things he does are extreme and not practical, also it is so expensive that very few people can think of doing such a thing. But here my whole point is that there is no balance. Of course he has a different purpose to all of this. But going to extreme lengths even in maintaining health can impact one in many other ways.
Life is to be experienced in many ways. One should not abuse their physical body in any way with vices and addictions, other then that at times even indulging in unhealthy foods once in a way is ok. Body has the capacity to flush out the toxins and repair the damage, only thing is that it should not be a continuous habit of indulging in wrong foods and lifestyle.
