Investigations into natural HAIR GROWTH & affirmations list

in hair •  6 years ago  (edited)

It turns out there are many things we can do to re-grow hair. Some people desire longer, thicker hair, while others (like myself) are seeking the re-growth of hair in areas which are thinning.

For the last few weeks I have been researching techniques which people are claiming to have had an effect on their hair growth. Some of them I am rejecting based on my intuition but for the most part I am keen to try out as many as possible with an open mind, always looking for the least expensive and most natural sounding route to success.

Head Massage 👱🏻

This brush arrived a few days ago and is now the main tool in my box of tricks!

Hair growth is all about encouraging blood flow in the scalp, so using this wooden bristle brush regularly as a massage tool is not only quite pleasurable but also doing a great job at stimulating the scalp and encouraging that blood flow.

I also use my hands to massage my scalp now. I feel like there is an important (and underused) energy in my palms and fingers which I am now taking full advantage of.

As a massage mix I am using coconut oil and peppermint essential oil. I have created a second mix with rosemary oil. Both these herbs are said to stimulate the scalp.

Exercise & handstands

One of the most natural ways to get the blood flowing in your head is through exercise. My work-out routine isn't a long one. Just 40mins a day.

20mins of yoga/stretching/breathing in the morning

20mins of press-ups, pull-ups & crunches in the afternoon

I also try and do at least a few minutes of this every day!

In the shower

No more will I use any modern shampoos on my hair. Natural, home made concoctions only from now on.

I am using a natural liquid soap called Castille Liquid which makes the base for my shampoo.

At the end of my shower I spend at least 30 seconds under FULL cold water. Sometimes I struggle to put my whole body under (though I know this is very good for my skin) but I will always hold my head under for the duration. Again, this works wonders in stimulating blood flow. You can FEEL it when you step out of that shower!

Diet

As a mostly vegan it wasn't such a bad diet previously, but more effort is being made now to eat raw and avoid naughty things like cheese, which here in the South of France is not so easy. My research tells me it can be responsible for clogging the pores in our scalp, so good bye cheese... for now ;)

High nutrient fruit & veg, fresh, locally sourced & organic is the key to giving the cells in our body the best chance at doing what they are meant to do.

Stinging-Nettle.jpg

Stinging nettle whipping

Yes, you read that right.

I learned about this one just a few days ago. One of my neighbours here told me he was able to re-grow his bald spots using this crazy sounding technique. Simply whip the desired area with the nettles and enjoy that enhanced blood flow! He told me the best time to do it is during the full moon, so I've not yet tried it... but look forward to the next full moon very much.

You can be sure I will be making a film to document this one!

Affirmations

I have seen the power of positive affirmations in my own life and the life of my partner Sabrina, so I feel quite excited about the creation of personal affirmations around this subject.

I will record myself reading them out and set my words to a soft music so that I can spend 15 mins each morning meditating and repeating them in my head.

This is the list I have come up with so far:

I am in full control of my hair growth

My body and my mind are intimately connected

When I am free from conflict within myself my body can be as it was meant to be

I love the way my hair looks

I love the way my hair makes me feel

My hair is so beautiful

My scalp is in perfect health

My hair is strong & healthy

My follicles are strong & healthy

The cells of my hair are strong & healthy

My hair is returning naturally

Nutrition and blood are always flowing to my scalp

I can regrow my hair easily

New hair is growing

Each day my hair becomes healthier & healthier

My hair is thick, full, alive, and abundant

My hair is an extension of my inner vitality

I love to run my fingers through my hair

I love the way my hair feels

I love to see the new hair growing

I love the way other people notice my thicker hair

I love inspiring other people to follow in my footsteps and re-grow their hair

and to finish off:

I am my own source of strength

I am multi dimensional

I am always improving

I am always evolving

I am present in the appreciation of this moment

I am loving the process of my expansion

I am right where I need to be

This is spiritual journey as much as it is a physical one. And as I said, I am open to trying most things. Even whipping my head with stinging nettles!

This film documents the beginning of my hair growth journey two weeks ago, when Sabrina cut my hair on the full moon just prior to my 7 day fast.

I would love to hear from anyone who has had experience with this.

We'll be watching with interest, but I'm also fascinated to know which methods you rejected.

I am pleased you asked :)

The subliminal films on YouTube I am struggling with a bit. There are hundreds like this one:

So hard to tell fact from fiction in the comments when it's easy enough to set up fake accounts and give the impression of success to encourage more views.

I feel like there is some truth to it but further research is required to fully understand. Ultimately I would love to create my own frequency tones as I do believe this would be way more powerful than listening to a YouTube video designed to make money.

One week to go till I pick myself a fine looking bunch of stinging nettles ;)

I was thinning (_am _ thinning, who am i kidding? lol).

I cut carbs totally and went very high fat . Any carbs came from veggies. (no rice or pasta and one or two root vegetables a week..(all that lovely french cheese - god I'm jealous).
I maintained it strictly for nearly three years, then fell of the wagon with bread, and never truly got back on it.
Pesky bread..

Anyway, while I was on the diet, my hair was noticeably thicker - it took around 3 months before I noticed).
Since coming off the strict diet ?- it sure feels and looks like my hair is thinning again.
I'm not bothered 'bout my hair, to be honest - which is a shame, as I can't use that as a motivator to get back on the wagon! lol

The longest living people in the world live mainly off carbs, grians and beans low fat. lol

I'm not very long....

Prob because your diet lol

lolol.
Maybe all the hormones in my meat is making me shrink?

There’s no right or wrong way to live. You can have a short tasty life or a long boring life lol 😂

I choose long and tasty! ;)

How do you do that??

That sounds about right to me. Though the grains are not so healthy when processed.

Who would they be?

Hey bro. Thanks for sharing your experience. I feel like the effect of 'conscious eating' is a very powerful one no matter what we are eating, as long as we BELIEVE what we are eating is the best thing for our bodies.

The carnivore diet seems all the rage these days and I must say I'm a bit curious to try it. But only when all other options have been investigated first ;)

I know what you mean about pesky bread. We have a 'bread man' who turns up in his van every morning with freshly baked croissants and baguettes, honking his horn to let our village know he has arrived. It has been tough ignoring his daily honks! And the cheese here really is out of this world. Never had anything like it! Anyways... the cheese will still be here when I've re-grown the hair.

I would love to get to the point where I am not bothered what my hair looks like, but for now I feel quite attached to it and would rather not end up looking like my father. Haha. Sorry dad.

The carnivore diet is the worst diet ever created in human history. It's based off of a few people who love meat and try to support their love for unhealthy food. Absolutely no scientific evidence supports any of their claims. Those who stay on it for long suffer long term consequences.

Thanks for clarifying this. I must say, it didn't sound right at all, but I can see so many vegans on YouTube trying it out at the moment... I guess they were all just desperate to eat meat!

Which I am not.

I think this is the most important part of your diet:

"as long as we BELIEVE what we are eating is the best thing for our bodies"

I went bald in my 20's and shaved my head so I'm long passed worrying about it - but now I'm hanging out to see you whipping your head with nettles!

Yeah, the belief thing is key. Humans can thrive in all kinds of extremes.

Am excited to see some results and share them here! One week to go till the full moon ;)
