We’re all aware of the purpose of a flat iron and most of us have even used it to straighten our hair before. But did you know that it’s good for so much more than just straightening?
Your flat iron can be used in multiple ways to create all sorts of head-turning looks that don’t just stop at straight hair. I know that it’s a little difficult to imagine that since the plates on hair straightener look very restrictive but I’m here to tell you that they aren’t.
What’s the secret, you might ask?
The trick is to find the right type of flat iron that works for both straightening and any other styles you may want to try or you can buy a second one just for styling.
When I was looking for one, I came across the Evalectric Flat Iron on Amazon. It looked like it would get the job done so I ended up buying this one.
What I love about this hair straightening iron is the fact that it has 100% Ceramic plates which is brilliant for all types of hair- be it curly, straight, fine or thick; its infrared technology which is far more superior to the one that I was using before AND its temperature can be adjusted (up to 460°F), all of which makes for a perfect heating tool for getting the silky, smooth hair you desire.
Why Use A Flat Iron?
So, we know that there are various heating tools in the market, especially for styling- some are used for curling, some for crimping and some leave you with beautiful beachy waves. And all of them are brilliant at what they do, too good at times.
Curling irons and wands get hot throughout the barrel, and sometimes it can be tough to get a proper grip on them when you’re working to transform your hair, especially when you don’t want to risk being burned.
Now, I know the risk of getting burned by hair straighteners is the same, but the heating plates are always towards the inside and are covered on the outside by the housing so when the iron is closed, only a small fraction of the plate is visible so it’s pretty easy to avoid burning yourself with it.
3 Different Styles Using a Flat Iron
1. Sleek Ponytail
Start by combing your hair, next, take your entire hair and use your favorite scrunchie to tie in up in a ponytail. You can either opt for a high ponytail or if you prefer your hair to be low, fanned out over your shoulder or back, go for a low ponytail. Take your Evalectric Hair Straightening Iron and run it over your ponytail slowly. Repeat it twice and you’ll have the sleek ponytail look you wanted to go for.
2. Faux Bangs
Tie up your hair in a messy up-do with your entire hair in a way that the ends of your tresses fall out of the bun on your forehead. Next, using your Evalectric Hair Straightener , straighten the ends of your hair and fan them out evenly across your forehead- and there you have your faux bangs!
3. Crimps Create 7-8 braids using your entire hair and run your hair straightener over each braid slowly, putting slight pressure after every inch. Once every single braid is done, unravel all the braids. Next, run your fingers through your hair gently and voila!
