So I also get to experince the current issues that I hear so many talk about here on Steemit. For me, it turned out to be a duplicate post. Well, you can ignor this one and just read the previous post.
Being fulltime RVers sometimes means giving up traditions, or as we like to think of it: making new traditions by changing and adapting the old ones. My kids had been longing for Halloween for a long time and when they asked where we would be and where they could go trick or treating we could not answer. We did not know exactly where we would be and did not know if there would even be a place they could go trick or treating.

We ended up in a Thousand Trails campground just outside of Los Angeles, Soledad Canyon RV & Camping Resort. When we checked in they told us about their plans for celebrating Halloween in the campground and it sounded great.
In the morning there was pumpkin-carving in the family center. Well, they actually canceled the carving and instead they provided all kinds of paint and decorations to decorate pumpkins that they also provided. I guess they liability of having carving knifes was something they forgot about when they first scheduled it.

Peter consentrating as he paints his pumpkin.

Emelie's pumpkin won a price in the category 'cute'.
After the pumpkin decorating we went to the pool and even though we did not bring any bathing suits, both Emelie and Peter ended up in the pool.

My ballerina is always dancing, this time, in the pool.
The campground had advertised that there would be a Halloween Hayride at 4 o'clock. All who wanted could come and ride the hayride around several different sections in the campground and the ride would stop at all campers that had put up the orange pumpkin sign that indicated that they wanted to participate in the trick or treat event. But again, they canceled because of liability issues, and again, I think that is something they should have realized before advertising the event. No hayride, but walking, in costumes, knocking on doors is the tradition for Halloween so we did not really miss the hayride.
At first, we did not have high hopes that there would be a lot of campers participating and handing out candy but our worries were quickly proven wrong. Camper after camper had the orange sign up and many were sitting outside with large bowls of candy.

Knocking on camper doors and getting candy was a new experience for all of us.

It did not take long to fill the buckets the kids brought!

While Supergirl and Spiderman practically ran from camper to camper Batman decided he needed a nap.
After we completed the round in the three sections open for trick or treating everybody gathered in the family center for a costume contest. It started with dancing and although it took a little encouragement before the kids got into the dancing they both really got into it.

Spiderman danced so fast that he barely showed up on images!

I had to wait til he slowed down to catch him with the camera!

Batman loved the lights!
All Three kids won an award in their age group for their costume.

Batman had to be carried up to receive his 1st place award.
It had been a long, but exciting day and I have to say that I have a hard time to imagine a better Halloween. Thank you Soledad Canyon for helping us have a great Halloween!
Looks like you guys are having a great time living the travel life as a family. My aspirations in the future. What a great experience for your kids celebrating Halloween in the USA. Love that photo of little batman taking a nap. Happy Halloween brother!
