I have an idea for steemit. As i look through my comments section on my post most people are nice and constrctive, but you have those jealous bitter people that leave rude comments. These people and im not naming names, they know who they are, don't just leave rude comments on my post but other peoples post aslo. These people are not benefiting steemit. My suggestion for this problem is steemit incorporate a way for us to block these people from viewing and/or commenting. So basically if there is a person who is making rude comments on my post i can simply block them so they can no longer view or comment on my stuff. I understand people are entitled to their opinions, but when the same people keep coming back just to be rude we should have a way to block them.
For now, using the "mute" button might be your best option. It means you will no longer see (in Steemit.com) posts and comments from the blocked user, but they will still exist for others to see.

Flag the comment, reply and ask others to flag too. This way the comment gets hidden and the user gets bad ratings.

The mute button still had the grayed out comments show up in my replies. Maybe someone else can confirm if this is true?

I dont know @halo but it must be something. But i am agree with you about the blocking part. But i think it would be hard if not the mute button is wath i think it is. Couse this is an open source blog. Maby truy it out and see wath happend?

It hides their comments at the bottom. But i would like to completely block them , i don't know if that is possible. I am not a programmer, i don't want full censorship of steemit, but i think as individual steemians we should be able to block certain people if we choose to.

It's not about censorship, like i said people are entitled to their opinions but when they come back time after time just to be rude because they are jealous or bitter about something I prefer not to have those negitive people on my blog and I'm sure most people on steemit will agree. I have not done anything to them I am nice to everyone on here. They don't know me so why the rude comments. I don't go make rude comments on their stuff.

Yes, I can agree with you on that. I didnt know you were having problems with your mute button. My reply to your post was not intended to insult, rather to stimulate more thought on control. I have noticed some quirks in the platform lately, but they are quickly dealt with as the devs are really on the ball. No doubt your problem will be resolved swiftly.

Putting your content out there for all to see is without censorship is a fundamental part of Steemit. The addition of a 'block button' would probably be the first stepping stone towards another Facebook type platform. I'd suggest using the mute option and live with it. Creeps and pricks go hand in hand with posting paid risqué photos of yourself to a public blockchain. It wouldn't be fair to other users if their voices were silence on other topics because of the specific type of content you post. Good luck!

It would not silence them on others stuff just mine . And when they say they say this stuff because they "are just a rude motherfucker, and i like it" they are not just placing opinions and its not just my content they are doing it on. I know some people dont like my content, and they have a right to tell me. But when someone is just coming back and posting stuff like that for no reason its not right and there is nothing wrong with having a block button for people with this kind of behavior. But if steemit decides not to implement a block button i will use the mute.

Oh okay lol. Yeah, I'd just mute and forget. Maybe thicken your skin a tiny bit, you'll come across much worse I'm sure. Sounds like you just have a person with a toddlerish mentality lashing out in jealousy and spite because they have absolutely nothing to offer whatsoever, and probably a thin wallet. I don't let stuff like that bother me because I try to picture how pathetic the person is in real life and smile. :) Hahah. I'd like some new options myself, like editing, and deletion, but it is what it is.
