Interesting tidbits of locals reporting on what they are seeing at the Hanford Nuclear site. Looks like a total blackout of information. This is a very interesting story for sure.

Thanks for sharing more info on this underrepresnted topic!

Im sure there is a joke about "exposure" somewhere, but I wasnt able to find it yet.

Looks to be a gaping hole in the tunnel from the top position. The broken walls of the tunnel are visible. This tells me that this is a major deal.

Whoa, this is intense. I heard from 1 source that there's a No-fly zone in place, has anyone heard that? I also found a few articles from 2016 about a separate incident.

Information is hard to come by and i can't vouch for the accuracy of this website, but have a look.

Hanford for decades made plutonium for nuclear weapons and is now the largest depository of radioactive defense waste that must be cleaned.

Yes, I've heard there is also a no fly zone. With all of the military helicopters it also makes sense. This is really a total cover up. How can there be no radiation leaks if the tunnel is completely exposed? Also, everyone was evacuated. Apparently the location where the hole is located is where some high concentration is also located.

Fascinating report! Good work!

Folks in the Tri-Cities area must be deeply concerned

I agree. I think I would take my family out of State for awhile... If possible. Scary stuff.

I have friends and relatives in the TCs...but leaving isn't an option for most of them.

Or something we need to do. With family and friends that work in 'the area' we are privy to information about levels etc and at this time there isn't any major concern in the Tri Cities (Richland being the closest). Yes the hole is worrisome and the whole thing makes you wonder but I'm more worried about contamination of the ground water from leaking tanks etc than this. On a side note, cleanup is a typical government fiasco with everything overbudget and overlong. At least there is some hope with the Vit Plant.
