A heart full of happiness: I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry. Philippians 4:12

The spiritual gifts ("Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5:48) can do wonders in man, and the apostle Paul testified about this truth in his epistle to the Philippians. The apostle filled with the Holy Spirit explained that there is no greater good in man than the gift of eternal life, the contemplation of God with the intelligence.
With the gift of eternal life we learn to make the object of our thoughts of everything that is perfect, that is to say, of everything that is good: "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things" Philippians 4:8.
And what Paul explained to us is essentially the spiritual meaning of the purity of heart or a heart full of happiness, a purity that rejects everything that is twisted, ambiguous, or double meaning, things are not perceived or understood backwards, but just as they are.
And with the spiritual love (Agape), the love towards our neighbor, which is linked to eternal life, we learn to be content and happy whatever the circumstance (equanimity), as the apostle explained with faith:
"For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength" Philippians 4:11-13.
In life there is a time for all things, as the sacred scriptures explain in Ecclesiastes 3:18, that is why the most important gifts prepare us, as happened to Jesus, to endure the greatest difficulties, just as they give us the necessary well-being to live the good moments with happiness.
