Today I am thankful for easily being able to keep in touch with my sister who is in Scotland. This is pretty much the exact opposite side of the globe to me (in New Zealand)! We have currently a 13 hour time difference and it is not the easiest to match up our schedules.

We are very close. We are 2 years apart in age and we've grown into being really good friends. It sucked when she told us she was moving to Scotland, but I'm very happy that we're able to easily stay in touch. Thanks to the technology available we have video calls as often as possible and we message each other most days.

She was here visiting us when my daughter was born (almost 2 years ago) and she's planned a trip back home for Christmas this year. I'm so excited for Christmas and for seeing her. It will be the first Christmas we've had together as a family for years. In the lead up to her coming home we are having more frequent video calls trying to get my daughter used to seeing her aunty. It will be great to see them together.

It's wonderful being able to easily keep in touch with her. She's just bought a house and has started her own business too and I feel like we've been part of the process with her. It's been very exciting and great that we've been able to still be a part of her life, even from the other side of the world.
