The sun's rays sent a glossy gold sheen all around the room making my eyes sensitive to daylight. Looking at clock and realizing I'm late to work made smile on my face fade away. I'm student and I'm working to earn some money for summer trip on sweet fair. I'm selling ice cream and cakes. It's not quite a hard job and the boss is great. I was worried that he would be mad, but he wasn't. We set everything up and the shift started. It was 10 am and not many people were in the mood for ice-cream (since they barely had their breakfast) so I sat down and observed people for a while. Looking at their faces I realized not many people smile. I started thinking about what's going inside their heads, what problems they may have or what wrong they may have done. Since you can't tell by someone's look if he or she is a murderer/robber/lost a loved one/cheated etc., I realized their problems are irrelevant and stopped thinking about what's bugging them. I realized the only thing important is the one you actually can see: are they happy or not. I decided to help them. Wondering how? I remember once I had been on a date, and everyhing had gone great, and tomorrow day I caught myself smiling on a street (because I was so falling for that boy) and just that second a man approached me and said: "A smile like that can brighten someone's day up." I have never actually thought about that sentence, but I decided I will kindly greet and serve every customer, but not that "kind" how waiters have to be because it's our job; but "kind" that I really want to make someone's day better - even for a few seconds. I started paying attention to people's face expression before and after being served with my smile, and it really felt good when I realized I made someone happy.
I just want to tell you to smile, even if you experience an insolent person because kindness is what they need the most. :)
