How To Make Next Year The Best Year Yet!

in happy •  7 years ago

Originally, I planned to write the blog post '2017 - My year in pictures,' only to discover my pictures told 5 words; 2017 just wasn't that great.

My camera roll consists of college work, work rotas, gym workouts and the odd photo of my dog, so not quality content. As the cliché goes; 'next year will be better.'

So in preparation, I devised my best possible list to make this achievable, and I'm sharing it with the world.

Write Down The Things You Want To Achieve.

Writing down your goals and sharing them with others are two of the best ways you can achieve your goal. When you write goals, you make it real for yourself. When you share goals, you invite others to aid your achievement.

Some of the things I'll be writing down are;

  • Improve at managing and saving my finances
  • Take a sign language/first aid course
  • Eat more fruit and veg (boring I know).

Cut Out Negative People

Another big cliché, but still one that remains true. Kick out your negativity. Dissolve relationships that don't support your success. You can't expect to surround yourself with negative people while living a positive life. Get like-minded friends who support and cheer-lead.

Everyone deserves to be surrounded by love!

Learn From The Past

Don't make the same mistakes. List 3 things that didn't work out for you last year and make a commitment to change those things.

Keep the glass half full not half empty.

Be Inspired

If you don't have anything to work towards, you won't feel motivated. Motivation is only effective if it's felt daily. Create a mood board or a Pinterest account! Include everything you want to achieve or just things that make you happy and inspire you to get out of bed every morning.

Stop Complaining

This remotely links back to point 2, which if you need reminding, cut out negative people. Complaining works in the same way. "Negative talk produce negative thoughts, negative thoughts produce negative results". Stop yourself when you catch yourself moaning about anything! Ditch the negative thoughts and focus on a solution.
