I'm not a big enthusiast for New Years festivities. As I read so many posts of everyone's year, summing up how great or awful 2018 was, I keep thinking to myself how swell my 2018 turned out to be.
Yes, my family continues to battle a frustrating disease, but each day is another day to be thankful because the one thing we all have in common is the uncertainty of how much time we have left.
I'm very grateful for the albeit limited audience and support I have garnered on this platform which has allowed me to continue to think and write in relative freedom. Even though the tide seems to have receded, it is only a matter of time before the next hype cycle returns. Regardless of the market being bearish or bullish, I am for the most part, happy. I have moments where my complicated reality dominates my disposition to happiness and optimism but they pass quickly.
Remember, there are billions of people on this planet who go to bed hungry, or depressed, or lonely, or whose lives lack love and meaning.

Of course, it is always great to get more views but it has been a crypto downturn. It's a little disappointing that activity on Steem and price are so closely correlated. There is a very good chance things will turn around eventually. Lets hope that is 2019.
