After a year in the design phase and two and a half months worth of construction, the 19th Harbin Ice and Snow World Park in northeast China begun its trial opening to worldwide tourists on Monday. Covering 800,000 square meters, the park features more than 2,000 ice sculptures made from 180,000 cubic meters of ice, setting a new world record for ice landscape construction.

The park contains 10 scenic areas, over 30 kinds of activities and dozens of interactive shows and performances centered on the winter theme. The Ice and Snow World Park will also host the 34th Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival from January 5 until the end of February.
The 34th Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival opens with a theme "Harbin Glory, Icn Snow in Northern China" on January 5 in 2018. The festival is featured by grand opening ceremony, fireworks display and a series of theatrical performances, ice snow activities in Sun Island, Ice and Snow Amusement World, Zhaolin Park and more venues around ice city Harbin.
