She is approaching it this way because other than the literal abolition of democracy and the constitution her only objection to the fascist policies of a Trump administration are matters of degree. They're up for debate. Without doubt Trumps most authoritarian desire is a sealing up of the border and an ethnic cleansing of the populous. Will a Harris administration expel all undocumented immigrants and end all migration into the country? No. But she agrees completely with the logic that has motivated Republicans to accept such a platform, and she wants those Republicans staffing her administration. She also wants to build a wall and militarize our southern border, a policy she correctly identified as fascistic in the very recent past. She mocks Trump for not being able to build much of it. She brags that the Obama administration had already begun constructing a wall before Trump was in office. She assures she will stop the "Flood" of immigrants entering our country. To put it simply, all she offers is compromising with fascism. She wants to let them into her administration and help them set the stage for the full on expulsion of ethnic minorities when the next Republican takes power.
