10 Facts about HOGWARTS

It's about time for another Wizarding World Facts series!
Today it's all about Hogwarts - the magical school of witchcraft and wizardry.

ONE

At Hogwarts, the school year begins on September 1st.

TWO

Hogwarts was founded in 990 by, Rowena Ravenclaw, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff and Salazar Slytherin.

THREE

There are four separate houses at Hogwarts to sort the students, based on the different personalities these founding members had.

FOUR

Before leaving Hogwarts, Slytherin built the Chamber of Secrets. Which we all know since the second Harry Potter Movie “The Chamber of Secrets” came out in 2002.

FIVE

The Great Halls ceiling has been bewitched to reflect the sky outside of the castle.

SIX

Muggle technologies, like smartphones and other devices, are useless in Hogwarts. There’s no WiFi anyway! ;)

SEVEN

Students need to be careful on the stairs, they’re always moving and changing directions.

EIGHT

In Hogwarts you can find the Room of Requirement, a secret room on the 7th floor, that only appears when a person is in need of it.

NINE

The slogan of Hogwarts is: “Draco dormiens nunquam titilandus.” Which can be translated as “Never tickle a sleeping dragon.”

TEN

It is impossible to apparate or disapparate into, or from within, Hogwarts.
