Inspirational faith: The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Matthew 9:37

The Old Testament prophecies are fulfilled in Jesus, the "son of man" and "son of God", and the teachings and miracles are a sign that the Kingdom of God is among men. Jesus preached the good news to the oppressed and afflicted and a large crowd followed him:
"And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.", Matthew 9:35-37

The disciples of Jesus are the workers in God's vineyard: "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.", Matthew 10:16.
The Kingdom of Heaven is a universal message, a progressive and expansive message that must bear fruit; that is why the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared with the things that live, that develop, that grow.
There are metaphors that Jesus uses very often to compare, describe, teach the Kingdom of God: "Again he said, ´What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it?´", Mark 4:30.
The Kingdom of God is the empire, government, domain, reign of God's perfections: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect", Matthew 5:48; "Be merciful just as your Father is merciful", Luke 6:36; "Be holy, because I am holy", 1 Peter 1:16.
The Kingdom of Heaven is living the gifts received from above (the spiritual gifts are perfections), we all have the ability to do good, to live righteously: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, Matthew 7:12.
The word of God in the gospels is that seed, that tree that must grow in believers, through the preaching of the disciples, and then be harvested. We are all called to this Kingdom.
