What is the Hedera hashgraph ? "Gossip about Gossip", Might be one of big things in 2019 digital assets contribution

Most from the YouTube videos saying its not blockchain technology,
Then my question becomes what is it ?
They say Gossip about Gossip and that confuse the hell out of me
Is it new algorithm ?
Please help
