The Hash Wars: Intermediate Stats

in hashwar •  6 years ago  (edited)

ABC is leading by 43 blocks, but because of difficulty readjustments this is not directly comparable to accumulated PoW.

I searched online to find websites that directly provide the accumulated PoW, but did not find a good one.
coindance gives some nice stats, but the most important number is missing...

I found this old webpage source from the time of the original BCH BTC fork, but they give only log(PoW) accumulated since the fork one year ago. The differences between ABC and SV have to be found from the last digits and are hard to understand.

Therefore I have simply computed the total accumulated PoW as of 10:30 16th November since the moment of fork in relative units (zetta hashes):

ABC : 446.1
SV: 235.5

ABC has almost twice the current PoW.

The merkle root of the block in which this post will appear determines the winner.

The block in which the above post is included has a merkle root of 3ee3f6777cd6f9097e8b8b2578fa1ceb19206935.
To find the winner we:

  1. Convert the merkle root into base 10:
    3ee3f6777cd6f9097e8b8b2578fa1ceb19206935 = 359041167233025852645200352365717955744100280629.
  2. Compute the residual after dividing by the number of tickets: 359041167233025852645200352365717955744100280629 mod 131 = 115.
  3. This is the winning ticket, held by @curatorbot.
