Production crews, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Entertainment, began filming “Godzilla vs. Kong”on Oahu Monday, and have already worked at various sites, including the USS Missouri, Manoa Falls and downtown Honolulu. They have also set up camp at Lanai Lookout along Kalanianaole Highway, and the parking lot remains closed until Nov. 21, according to the state Department of Transportation. Filming in Hawaii should take place through December. State officials referred to the film as “Apex,” and signs have been spotted around Oahu.

“Godzilla vs. Kong” is directed by Adam Wingard (“The Guest”) and is scheduled for release on May 22, 2020.
