More Trespassers Need to be Rescued - Big Island Hawaii

We just wrote about the Bill going through the Hawaii State Legislature which would not only impose fines, but also make the trespassers responsible for the reimbursement of the rescue services. Now for the second time in four months Hawaii County firefighters had to rescue four swimmers trapped in a flash flood on the private property of Anna’s Ranch in Waimea.

We cannot understand how so many people come on a vacation of a lifetime and put their lives at risk in hazardous conditions. On top of that they trespass into lands that are clearly marked as private property.

These people have no regard for the property of others, laws, warnings, and the lives of the people that have to save them. We purposefully left out the regard for their own lives because they clearly don't have that.

The sad thing about this is they would probably sue the County if they got injured, or died, in the rescue.
