Hawai’i Travel: Cherry Blossom Trees in Wahiawa.

Today I took the Sakura Cherry Blossom Tour in Wahiawa, Hawaii. Wahiawa is a Sister City to Sakura, Japan and the Cherry Blossom trees planted in Wahiawa are from the Sakura region of Japan. The tour lasts 90 minutes and the Tour guide gave the history of the Cherry Blossoms and the town. It was a cool crisp morning so perfect your weather. Our tour guide Miles Mihara was very knowledgeable and taught us some Japanese words and local history. Here are some pictures of the Cherry Blossoms.

Founded in 1898, the city of Wahiawa (Hawaiian: “Place of Noise”) is a commercial centre for nearby plantation communities and military installations (Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Airfield).

Wahiawa is a census-designated place in Honolulu County, Hawaii, United States, on the island of Oahu. It is located in the Wahiawa District, on the plateau or "central valley" between the two volcanic mountains that comprise the island. In Hawaiian, wahi a wā means "space of the wa people". The population was 17,821 at the 2010 census.
