The 37 year-old was due to fight Tony Bellew on December 17 at The O2 in London in a bid to gain revenge for an earlier loss, in which he also got injured.
Pulling out of the Bellew clash was the fourth time in eight scheduled bouts that Haye hasn't made it to the first bell, although the former world champion is adamant his body isn't breaking down and retiring is not on the cards.
"I'm sure you are aware my eagerly-anticipated rematch with Tony Bellew on December 17 has been postponed," Haye began in recently released video.
"I've obviously got an injury in my left bicep for which I had a procedure to repair a couple of days ago.
"Doctors and my physio are very, very happy with how it went and I'll be back firing on all cylinders in a couple of months.
"Yet another big sorry to everybody. This sport throws curveballs to us from time to time, but I will be back!
"It's been a very challenging year for me but 2018 is where it's all going to happen.
"I'll be working through my Christmas and I'll see you next year," he added.
March or May have been pencilled in, more likely the latter, for the Bellew encounter to finally happen for the second time - potentially on the same date at the rematch between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez.
May 5 in Las Vegas is the date already in the works for GGG v Canelo II, meaning Cinco de Mayo could be a massive night for boxing around the world if Haye can prove hit fitness.
Unfortunately the show is cancelled, meaning The One And Only MVP aka Me!!! won't be fighting either I'm hoping to find out if im able to get one more fight this year but it's looking like, Simular to David Haye I'm Destined for my return in 2018
