THEME: BEACHES/LAKES (Pictures must be near water)
Please read the rules/requirements for contest before entering.
#hdrphotocontest is a weekly contest and the theme/setting changes every week.
I am contributing 5 steem dollars to the inaugural contest.. I will also be adding the Steem Dollars generated from this post and my first post about this contest. The final prize pool will not be known until the announcement posts pay out. There will be 3 winners. 1st prize gets 65% of prize pool 2nd prize 25% of prize pool and 3rd prize 10% of the prize pool. I will make a winners post that shows the payout calculation details after 7 days. If this contest goes well and gets a good response I will do this weekly at the same time. Prizes will grow in future contests; there will be more and bigger prizes/winners per contest.
HDR PHOTO CONTEST RULES/REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY
(I will be judging this first contest alone. I am interested in guest judges for future contests.)
~ 3 entries maximum
~ Must be your own photo/photos
~ Post must have HDR Photo Contest #1 in title and make sure to tag in #hdrphotocontest
If you wish to donate to the contest to make for a bigger prize I will mention you in announcement threads and in final post.
Upvoting this post and the other post will increase rewards and prize pool at the end of week. Steem Dollars generated from the announcements get added to prize pool when they have payed out. Final prize amounts calculated and announced when contest closes.
Can we get a more elaborate definition for what you consider HDR? Neither of the two submissions so far are actually HDR in my opinion.
As per Wikipedia:
"The two primary types of HDR images are computer renderings and images resulting from merging multiple low-dynamic-range (LDR)[5] or standard-dynamic-range (SDR)[6] photographs."
IE, merging together multiple exposures of the same scene. The two submissions already posted are only single frames.
You can use software on your phone these days to make "HDR" images. Yes they are not true "HDR" but this way gives more people the option to get the effect. And it is not far off from the real thing. I am fine if people use an app to achieve the effect.

Very nice contest. Unfortunately for me I almost never take HDR picures. Love the picture you posted as an example!

Nice! Is a picture along a river (with half of the pic filled with water) okay too, or does it have to be a lake/beach?
