Hello Hivers.
I'd like to share with you some information about the last plant I've found a couple of days ago. I think it could be useful for everyone to know about it.
TRADESCANTIA ZEBRINA
This is a mainly ornamental perennial plant. Its beautiful purple and green leaves make it stand out helped by silver lines that contrast with these colors. It is known to be resistant to dry periods and to be easy to spread.
It is native to México, Colombia, and Central America. However, it can be found in several countries nowadays.
USAGE AS TRADITIONAL MEDICINE
Many healing properties have been added to this plant, such as dermatological, antiemetic, diuretic, antipyretic, analgesic, antihemorrhagic, and anti-diabetic properties.
Its usage could be both, oral and external.
To use it as a natural repellent against mosquitoes and fleas, it is only necessary to apply the leaves of the plant by way of friction. It is believed that it can also treat scorpion stings by applying it in the same way.
To obtain its analgesic properties it is necessary to boil the leaves and drink the water. It is useful for treating menstrual cramps, cramps, dental pain, among others.
Thanks for reading.
Best regards.
