MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS: A necessary taboo in today's society

Mental illness is not a life long sentence, it is not a crime. It’s a battle, and to win a war you need to have strong allies. This can come in all forms; they could be your doctors, therapy, your meds, practicing self-care, and most importantly people who accept and support you.
Those who condemn you for fighting back and being open about your struggle are close-minded and not worthy of your time. Never give up, there are so many others out there fighting right along with you.
Imagine if you got blamed for having cancer.
— Hufflepuff on mental illness
If you are someone who is personally impacted by mental illness, you are not alone. Do not be afraid to reach out for help. It doesn’t mean you are a bad person. It doesn’t meant that you are weak. It means you are strong enough to reach out for support and help.

Awareness by the media:

“Let’s talk about mental health.”
The idea behind the campaign is that talking about mental health reduces the stigma that keeps so many people from finding the support they need. So, let’s talk about mental health: Did you know that LGBT+  young people consistently report a lower level of wellbeing than their straight counterparts?
