Foods craving is an enemy for those who want to lose weight. Sugar cravings are not only dangerous for people on diet but also people who aren’t. Sugar or carbohydrate cravings can be noticed everywhere in every person. Whether you want to cut down your weight or to start a new healthy lifestyle you should stop eating sugar, which is not as easy as it sounds but not as difficult as you think. To stop your enemy to attack you, you must understand him very well. You should look into his strengths and weaknesses. The same strategy applies here. You should understand how it works and how it damages your system.

As we know, sugar is a refined extract from sugarcane. One should know the effect on bloodstream, insulin and brain. When you eat sugar your brain releases dopamine, which is the primary neurotransmitter, thereby increasing addiction. In earlier days, people would hunt and eat as there is no cultivation like now. They want more energy to run and hunt animals, for that they eat food with more calories. This strategy is still engraved in our brain that even without running or hunting for food, we still crave for sugar. Eating more calories is OK for humans of that time, but since we occupy our time more at office doing no physical workout, we should stop eating those many calories of sugar.

To avoid consuming sugar naturally, include a balanced diet in your routine. A balanced diet consists of a significant amount of protein, healthy fats and fiber. These play a crucial role if you want to stop your food cravings. You can get more protein from chicken breast, eggs, and milk or fermented milk products. Healthy fats can be included by adding avocados, seeds, and coconut oil. Chia seeds, fruits and vegetables are a good source of fiber. Add these items every day in your meal to get maximum health benefits with lesser addiction to sugar.

Along with the balanced diet, you need to take a break from all sugar candies to go inside in your tummy. Take a nice break that suits your addition. Take a break of at least one week to understand how addicted you are to sugar. While eating balanced diet along with not having sugar improves your resistance towards sugar cravings. A physiological restriction is essential no matter what you are starting. You may feel weak in the earlier period, but gradually you can see an improvement in your health when you stop eating sugar. Remember “The more you eat the more your body starts to crave it”.

So in a sense, sugar is like alcohol. If you want to stop your cravings for good, you need to abstain from it as once you start eating it even just a small dessert, it may trigger a binge?

I have a great post about how bad sugar is that is a little more extended than this. But nevertheless you bring up good points about how bad it is for our hormones, weight. Also, it is very for your teeth, because the bacteria in your teeth crave it. Thanks for spreading the health awareness. Cheers.

Thanks for sharing very good point.Really sugar is very bed for health.when people know about this side effect they must be avoid .who likes sugar they are benefited to read this post.

I’ve heard that it is impossible to lose weight while your blood is flooded with insulin.

Yep, I'm addicted.

From personal experience, the more junk and processed foods I eat the more sugar cravings I get. Makes sense because of the spike in blood sugar and then big drop that follows where you body craves for more.

Also the fact that junk food is manufactured so that you become addicted to it doesn't help ether.

Best words of advice, educate yourself on what's actually good and not good for you, stop buying the junk and replace it with natural plant based foods.

That's so true!

You have shown really some good points . I'm also addicted of this . Your article will help me a lot ...
than you dear :)

Avoid sugar in your food must be easy to accomplish if you know what disadvantages sugar brings to your body.

A very important info

Thanks for sharing! Very useful info, because (many kinds of) sugar really is BAD!!!!

it is sometimes hard to do specially if you don't cook your food by yourself. a lot of food will contain sugar/salt and some harmful fats. for the healthy choice it's going to be a step harder than eating anything

I think sugar is in every food. Life is quite boring without sugar haha!

interesting

Apparently we crave what we continuously eat. So once you start eating a less sugary diet, full of healthy food, fruit and vegetables etc., after a while you get so used to it, and that's what you are gonna crave, and not the bad stuff anymore. Tried and tested by me, and it works!

I feel so guilty now after my sweet trip to Brussels 🙄

Greetings from Berlin

I dont know how possible this is, im definetely going to try. I have a sweet tooth, staying away from sugar is almost impossible 😓

I completely agree, @africaunited! I've found that slowly cutting out sugars to curb cravings, really helps a lot!

thanks for sharing .......truly learned something

Ever since I went Primal / paleo a few years ago my sugar Cravings have almost completely disappeared! :-) I would highly recommend looking into eating paleo / following the Primal blueprint if you want to have no more sugar Cravings. The essence of it is a very very high fat low carb diet... Most of the plate being composed of vegetables in fact and then a good amount of protein too. our taste buds regenerate after a couple weeks. And slowly but surely after a while of abstaining from lots of sugar and eating seems that used to taste Bland to us our taste buds change and we suddenly are able to appreciate and really taste the subtle flavor in things that we didn't notice before. Eating become so much more enjoyable because we're no longer addicted to Sugar.! :-)

I've seen some studies that show that sugar is as or even more addicting than cocaine. It affects our brain in very similar ways. Great post! :-) thank you for spreading the news about how sugar is from the devil! :-) lol! :-) seriously though! :-) sugar has no health benefits and only causes problems.
