A day in the Life of a Homeopath: March 2018

Case 1: New enquiry. Somalian/Italian child. Autism. Currently with another homeopath and showing progress. I advised mother to continue with this practitioner.

Case 2: New enquiry. No show, didn’t leave contact details on the booking form. Made a cup of tea instead!

Case 3: Singapore. Female, 13 months. Progressive muscular weakness after vaccines. This is the second case of this nature that’s come to me. Both female. A worrying development. They’ve booked in for a full appointment.

Case 4: US. 43 years female. A variety of symptoms including Trigeminal neuralgia, migraines, chronic joint pain and numbness of hands if she tries to grip anything, fatigue and muscle pain lasting for days, hormone imbalance (causing hair loss and body hair growth), foggy thinking. Previously she’s spent $1000s on another homeopath to no effect. The homeopath felt that she was an ‘animal remedy’ and tried a long succession of animal-based remedies based on language that the patient used. This continued for several years (this nonsense drives me crazy and is hurting homeopathy). 4 week catch up & patient reports her physical symptoms are 70% better after I gave the indicated remedy: Spigellia. Too early to tell if hormone cycle has been corrected yet.
Prescription: Continue Spigellia another 4 weeks.

Case 4: UK. Update of ongoing autism case 6 year old boy that regressed after vaccines. We have already detoxed vaccines with only slight improvement. Last prescription was a parasite cleanse which achieved little. I’m frustrated that I haven’t made more progress with this case.
Prescription: Metal detox (tests show high levels of toxic metals) + Hyoscyamus 200c
Analysis: We have made progress, but it’s been too slow for my liking. I'm missing something, maybe the metals will turn out to be a massive factor.

Case 5: UK, 32 year old female. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) + Selective mutism. Also terribly painful periods that sometimes cause her to pass-out. She’s been ill for 10 years, completely bed-bound for 7 years and despairs of recovery. Possibly caused by pesticide exposure in early 20s when she lived in Florida. Main symptoms are: overwhelming pain and fatigue. Her life consists of lying in bed in pain, sometimes able to use the TV remote, sometimes able to communicate using a tablet computer.
First prescription was: Arsenicum Album.
Result: The mum was SO careful that we’ve really only had a couple of weeks of the remedy with no obvious effect so far.
Prescription: Continue with the Arsenicum (I still think it’s a great choice) + add Myelin 12c twice a day (a remedy made from the myelin sheath of nerve fibres) + Colocynthus for her intense period pains.
Analysis: I feel confident we are going to recover this young woman over time so that she will be able to lead a normal life.

Case 6: Continuing case. Male, 6 years, Canada, Autism. HE’S TALKING! We have reached a milestone and he’s now become verbal after 5 prescriptions. He’s repeating words that are said to him now. The last prescription was a detox of the drugs his mother had during labour. The other remedies I prescribed alongside appeared to not have much effect. He still has an ongoing illness & low-grade fever which might be a residual effect of the detox, so for the next few weeks I’m giving him some support remedies then we’ll assess. His mother was also on a Clomid detox which caused a thick whitish discharge.

Case 7: New case. Male, 6 years old, USA. Diagnosed with: Autism, ADHD, OCD. No obvious regression, developed normally. Symptoms started at around 2 years old: constipation, running in circles, hyperactivity, tantrums, obsessions with things, saying ‘eeeehhhhh’ constantly, waking at 2am every night. These symptoms continue. No clear cause.
Prescription: Tuberculinum + Lycopodium. After this I’ll move on to a vaccine detox just in case that is one of the culprits (we'll be able to see this from his reaction to the vacc detox).

Case 8: Ongoing case. Lady in her 60s. Ireland. Chronic heart-burn and stomach acidity (has been on medications for this for many years) + aching joints and muscles (especially if she exercises) + Osteoporosis. First prescription was Natrum Mur (indicated by symptoms I’ll not discuss here) + Nat Phos tissue salt
Result: No improvement dammit! However, further talking has brought me to another remedy which I am confident will help.
Prescription: Kali Carb. We shall see in a month, but I’m almost prepared to bet some bitcoin that this remedy is going to be of amazing benefit to her.

Case 9: Ongoing case. Update. Male, 5 years old, Autism. We have done amazing things with this boy. He’s verbal, social, doing well at school and not far from recovery. The remaining symptom is hyperactivity.
Last prescription: Tarentula-Hispanica. Result: I made the hyper symptoms worse (ops).
New Prescription: Hyoscyamus + Tuberculinum.
Analysis: I know we just have to fix a few things with this kid and he’ll be neuro-typical, I can feel we are close with this one.

Case 10: Ongoing case. Update. Male, 7 years, Autism. USA. Another case that’s almost fixed. He’s made tremendous progress, there’s just a few things remaining. His speech is still delayed with only 2 word sentences. But he has a large vocabulary, it seems more like a motor planning issue that’s stopping the sentences exploding from him. Similarly he has great difficulty writing, though he reads and understands well. For the past few months he’s been on Nux Moschata which has been amazing for his comprehension, learning, speech. But it seems to have stagnated now.
Prescription: Nat Mur + Pituitary Gland
Analysis: Another kid that is almost fixed, I’m very proud of him.
