A question for health experts: Is an oil based hair pomade better than using a water based gel type pomade or just gel? Does it cause balding?

Are oil based pomades better than water based pomades or gels? Help me out.

Oil based:

An oil based pomade usually consists of ingredients such as:

Sample: Reuzel pink

  • Petrolatum
  • Cera Alba (Beeswax)
  • Cera Microcristallina
  • Hydrogenated Rosin
  • Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2
  • Fragrance (Parfum)
  • Silica
  • BHT
  • Benzyl Benzoate
  • Lillal
  • Hexyl Cinnamal
  • Linalool
  • Citronellol
  • Amyl Cinnamal
  • Eugenol

I've heard these ingredients in an oil based pomade actually moisturizes your hair and helps it, although it is harder to wash out.

Water based gel type pomade or gels

Water based pomades or gels are water soluable but may not have the best ingredients. Although they wash out easy, is there a down side ingredient wise?

Sample: reuzel blue

Ingredients:
Water, Ceteareth-25, Ceteareth-20, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, PEG-25 Hydrogated Castor Oil, Polysorbate-20, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, AMP-Acrylates/Allyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Hexyl Cinnamal, Sorbic Acid, Lilial, Lyral, Linalool, Orange 4 (CI 15510).

So which is better? The oil based pomades or the gel type water based pomade?
