If you are feeling the stresses of your crypto portfolios or just having trouble sleeping, I highly recommend that you try drinking some Rooibos (red bush) tea. Rooibos (pronounced Roy-Boss) is a soothing beverage brewed from the dried leaves of the Rooibos plant - a shrub native to the Western cape area of South Africa.

Made from oxidised leaves, this beverage can be drunk hot or chilled. It has a reddish brown colour when poured. The best thing about Red bush tea is it is relatively cheap and now easy to get hold of. It can be ordered online or found in most supermarkets and health food shops. Not only that, but It has some amazing health benefits and has been extensively researched over the last few years. When I drink it it has the effect of a tranquiliser on me. No sooner have I finished a cup, I am calm and ready to nod off on a night. Studies have shown that the main benefits of red bush tea are:

*Antioxidant properties. Those drinking red bush had higher levels of an enzyme called superoxide dismutase, which breaks down potentially harmful oxygen molecules in cells. The free radicals in red bush tea destroy any potentially harmful attacks on human cells, helping to ward off illnesses. Prostate cancer now affects more than 1.1 million men worldwide, and it has been scientifically proved that the flavinoid, Quercetin, which red bush tea is rich in, helps to relieve symptoms of enlarged prostates' and the pain and discomfort of CPPS (Chronic pelvic pain syndrome) as well as helps in cancer prevention.

  • Cardioprotective properties.

Red bush tea has been proved to have cardioprotective properties after research showed on lab rat tests that those rats which received rooibos extracts had less heart damage than green tea extracts after cardiac circulation is abruptly stopped then restored.

*May help fight obesity

Rooibos solids inhibit the formation of fat cells but also show positive effects on the metabolism of fat cells.

*Rooibos helps to treat diabetes by lowering glucose levels due to the flavinoid aspalathin, which red bush tea is rich in.

Red bush tea is great for children as it reduces oxidative stress and is naturally caffeine free; and if you get fed up with water, it is a nice change, offering up a naturally sweet earthy taste. It is certainly full of goodness. Try some and give your body a break.
