Researchers at New Zealand made the world's first color and 3D X-ray on humans. In this work they have used a technique which will improve the detection of disease. This technology provides Europe's CERN Research Center.
European Organization for Research, or briefly known for his contribution to CERN Science and Technology. They created this color X-ray based on the general black-and-white X-ray technology. This color X-ray is made using the technology of a part of Carney's most famous instrument, Large Hadron Collider.
"This color X-ray technology will make more clear and accurate images so doctors can more accurately identify the disease," says a statement from CERN.
This technology of CERN is called MediPix, it works like a camera and when the shutter is open, it identifies and calculates fine particles than atoms and creates photos from them. It provides quality colorful images.
University of Canterbury developer Phil Butler claims that there is no such obvious picture from any other device.
Carney said this color X-ray could easily show the difference between bone, cartilage and muscle. Not only this, it can be detected by the presence of tumor.
New Zealand's company Mars Bio-imaging is using CERN's technology commercially. Their work is helping the University of Otago and the University of Canterbury.
That's actually kind of cool. Wonder how that will change radiologists training in the future.
