My TOP 3 Healthy Snacks at Computer DesksteemCreated with Sketch.

Have you ever went through a whole pack of crisps or popcorn or something edible near your hand... really quickly and unconsciously... while you are Youtubing, Facebooking or Steemitting? And felt psychologically regret almost immediately and physically bloated after a few hours....? Then you are not alone! However, there are a lot healthier (still satisfying, NOT talking about carrots and celery here :)) options out there to keep you happy and satisfied!

Today i am going to share with you my Top 5 healthy snacks in front of computer. (Disclaimer: I am NOT sponsored by any company, i am a big fan of these products and buy them Very regularly.)

1. Rude Oatcake (they do a really wide range of flavours from Rye oat, spelt oat, chia&sesame, etc.)

Why I like it: the cleanest ingredients you can find in the Oatcake market. Instead of using palm oil or sunflower oil, they use "extra virgin olive oil”, "unrefined cane juice sugar” and "sea salt”….WHAT! Yeah, my heart skips a beat when i see the ingredient list! Each oat cake is roughly 54kcal and one small pack (4cakes) is around 216 kcal, although not the lowest kcal snack, but it keeps you fuller and nourished for longer!

Where you can get it: you can get it from various supermarket, whole food stores, or even Amazon.

2. Coconut water

Why I like it: low in sugar compare to your normal fruit juice or smoothie; in fact 100 ml of coconut contains only 2.6g of sugar and 19kcal  VS 8g of sugar and 45kcal in 100ml Orange juice. Coconut water is roughly just 1/3 of sugar content and calories of orange juice. It’s great refreshing summer drinks and won’t do too much damage even you go through the whole 1 litre bottle (yeah, that’s my usual serving size:) ). In addition, coconut water is very high in potassium, which helps the body to balance out the negative effect of salt. This is extremely good for people who sit on their chair most of the day.

where you can get it: local stores, supermarkets, or coconut trees outside of your house if you are luckily living on tropical island.

3. Popped Chips

Why I like it: it tastes BETTER than crips (in my opinion tho). They make the popped chips by "processing potato starch at high pressure and temperature, in a process similar to that used for puffed rice cakes.” (wikipedia), hence, the oil used in the process is a lot less, in fact the fat content in the popped chips are just 1/3 of normal crisps! Although it’s still not the most healthiest option, but hey we need to indulge ourselves occasionally right?!

Where you can get it: Popchips is the brand who originally make the popped chips and you can get it from supermarkets or Amazon; some supermarket versions (like Morrisons own brand or Waitrose own brand popped chips) are just as good.

These are Top 3 favourite healthy (healthier) snacks at computer desk and I’d love to know what’s your favourite healthy snacks? Thanks for reading and see you next time! XX
