Juice feasting plus super easy gourmet smoothie recipe

in health •  7 years ago

Now, in August, there is an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables, partly we have organic produce from our garden and also we go to the market on Wednesday in our village where they display fruit and veg from the region. After all, Spain is the 10th biggest producer of fruit and vegetables in the world.

Juice feasting is our new way to enjoy the abundance of fruit available right now. We are not into fasting, we are feasting! We are feasting on such variety of vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, nutrients and enzymes, it is simply amazing. I found out about this on this website which lists the healing ingredients of a wide variety of fruits and vegetables:

Even their website is so pretty:

There they list the benefits of the various vegetables and fruits in an easy way and reading through the list simply makes me feel even better knowing how much goodness I ingest.

We have a slow juicer which we use for carrots, beetroots and coconut and we also have an industrial strength mixer/smoothie maker which can handle everything else. Both are so easy to clean, too.

And here is our favourite summer smoothie recipe for 2 people:

1/2 a melon (any melon like Cantelupe or honey dew) plus a teaspoon of cinnamon. That's it.

I remove the rind and cut the melon into small pieces, add a little water and the cinnamon to the smoothie maker, pulse for a few seconds and that's it. I pour the smoothie into 2 nice glasses and it turns out lovely frothy and tastes yummie!

We are neither raw fooders nor are we vegans, we just enjoy healthy homecooked food and a juice or smoothie feast is just another addition to our healthy lifestyle.

I hope you like our melon smoothie feast, let me know what you think if you make it for yourself!

Love to all!

Fantastic Post! Love your term Juice Feasting.

Yeah, I love the term Juice Feasting soooooo much better! It seems as if the freshly pressed juices are then something special, which they are anyway! What are we having today? (licks lips in anticipation!):
banana
blueberries, raspberries
6 almonds
1/2 cup of water

Yummie!!!

Yum indeed. Sounds marvelous.

Have you tried putting cantaloupe seeds and the rest of the stuff you scoop out of the middle with somewater and blending them, then straining the mixture through cheesecloth to get the protein "milk"? It's delicious!

What a great idea! I will try that, too! :) I'm usually using peeled hempseeds or almonds or sunflower seeds and mix them in with the fruit or veg and then we drink it as it is without straining. But I will make use of the melon seeds, too, now! Brilliant! Thank you!
