We all want a strong immune system because no one wants to be sick. The immune system is spectacularly designed to keep your body well. It works best if you work with it and not against it. Give it the things it needs to keep your body strong and protect from foreign invaders.
We've all heard vitamin C is good for the immune system. That's pretty much as much as I knew about the immune system growing up. Vitamin C is great and you need to get but there's even better stuff for the immune system. Nevertheless, I still make sure I'm getting vitamin C whenever I can because the human body doesn't create it endogenously. I use this Natural Vitamin C powder to mix in water and make a drink. I made a video showing you how to make hibiscus tea rich in vitamin C.
3 of The Best Things For The Immune System
- Probiotics
- Herbs
- Sun
1. Probiotics
Probiotics are one of the best things for the immune system. They live in and outside of your body. We have 10 times as many bacteria as we have of our own cells! The good bacteria defend against bad bacteria and other pathogens. About 2/3 of our immune system is associated with probiotics, particularly in the gut.You can buy probiotics in capsules but you're better off making cultured foods and eating fresh food from the wild or a garden. Probiotics in pill form are easily killed by stomach acids. Donna Gates believes probiotics in cultured foods survives going through the stomach and gets into the intestinal tract. That's one of the main reasons why her Body Ecology Products are superior to encapsulated probiotics.
According to Anthony William, author of the Medical Medium, there's an unknown type of probiotics that he calls elevated biotics. Elevated biotics live on fresh plants growing outside. If you eat the plants fresh and don't wash them off or cook them, the elevated biotics will be the only probiotics that make it through your intestinal tract into the ileum. The ileum is the only place elevated biotics can make b12 for your body. Anthony William says getting elevated biotics into your ileum is the best thing you can do for your immune system.
The reason why the elevated biotics can make it to the ileum is because they've been subjected to nature. The wind and rain make it so the elevated biotics are tough enough to survive stomach acids and get into the ileum. 2. Herbs
There are a lot of really good herbs for the immune system. Some you should only take when you're sick and others you should take regularly. Herbs such as garlic and echinacea are good for the immune system but you don't want to take them every day. They're not tonics.
Tonic herbs are more gentle and safe. They can be taken daily without causing harm. Besides the medicinal mushrooms, one notable tonic herb that's great for the immune system is Astragalus.
Garlic
Garlic gives a tremendous boost to the immune system! It's aggressive against pathogens we commonly encounter with it's a potent anti-viral and anti-bacterial action. Garlic serves well as a natural antibiotic that doesn't kill the good bacteria in your gut. I take a lot of Aged Garlic Extract or Allicidin as soon as I feel my immune system turn on. I can usually keep from getting sick if I catch it early enough and mega dose on garlic and other immune boosting herbs.
Medicinal Mushrooms
There are lots of tonic herbs that are great for your immune system. The best of the best is dominated by class of herbs called Medicinal Mushrooms. Almost all medicinal mushrooms grow on trees, with the notable exception of agaricus blazei. They're loaded with essential beta-glucan polysaccharides that stimulate macrophages and super charge the immune system.
3. Sun
The sun is one of the best sources of healing ever discovered. Research has found that the sun activates more of our healing genes than any other known thing. Epigenetics is the science of how our genes express themselves. Research with the sun and epigenetics is proving the sun to be very beneficial. Why would it be any other way? We are a lot like plants. We need the four elements: soil, water, air, and sunlight. Because sunlight is an essential element of life, without it we develop deficiencies.
Getting adequate vitamin D from the sun will dramatically boost your immunity. And it's free!

I was recently wondering this week if anyone used affiliate links here. I feel like they are a win win. People love to hear about the products I suggest for clients or myself. Do you have any tips on affiliate links? Like who to sign up with, how to use, when not to use, etc?

Have you heard of The Body Ecology Diet? It's a book, and diet, focused on cutting sugar intake while simultaneously increasing probiotic intake, specifically through food and drink instead of capsules. The author, Donna Gates, says it's more effective that way because less is killed by stomach acids.
One of her main focuses is autism too. And she even has a site dedicated to it. You may find her work interesting.

First, I only promote things I believe in (of course). I only use them when I feel they add value to topic and are relevant. And you have to have a disclaimer, to keep it legal (even though it seems like more hassle than it's worth, IMO.)
Amazon is a great affiliate partner because they have so many products (just about everything). That makes it easy because you can sign into one place and link to several different products in a post. Less passwords to keep up with too. The downside is the commission rates are lower than most other affiilates, especially in the beginning because you progressively make more (%wise) the more you sell. Another downside is there are some scam companies that portay themselves as reputable brands on Amazon, and sell knock-off products. So that worries me about Amazon. Therefore, when possible I try to link to the actually company's product. But I do order a lot off Amazon and the products seem to be legit.
I think it makes more sense to put affiliate links in free products, such as blog posts, than in paid products.
Most affiliates have html codes that you put into your posts and either create text links or banners. Some have ways to make them URL links. It depends on the program.
Some of them have 2 tier systems where you can invite others to join the affiliate program and then make money from their sales too. For example, if you sign up here, you can become an affiliate of Body Ecology products and I would make a small commission from your sales too.
All of this is at no extra cost to the buyer, which is nice. I plan on teaching internet marketing in the future so I'll give more pointers when the time comes. But let me know if there's any way I can help in the meantime.

Thank you. Yes I plan to only use things that are truly relevant. I think Amazon sounds like a good base, but agree with supplements that using the direct source when possible is better! I just make a lot of posts talking about product and then inevitably have a message box or reply box full of people asking for exactly what to get from where, etc... so I figure make it worth my while! I will be following you as I would love to read your blogs about this topic!
