1 in 68 children would receive ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in a study done in 2004, and this study was done over ten years ago. My friend and I had a discussion about this today, whether or not vaccines do cause autism, we decided to allow the facts to speak for themselves. Meaning, I will explain what I believe while sharing the facts. I want to share with everyone what we concluded and uncovered from research from the C.D.C. and the W.H.O.
Who am I?
Hello Ateazi here, I am a health enthusiast as well as an avid gamer from time to time, today we are going to talk about Autism and if vaccines cause it, and what vaccines are/what they do.
Vaccines are an injection of a weakened or dead organism, in which the body builds up antibodies against this organism. This is done in the attempt to prevent the spread of infections such as the Flu, Hepatitis B, amongst other types of diseases. Most of you are probably common with the yearly flu vaccination, but what most of you are probably not aware of is the vaccinations given at birth, the first vaccination to be given is the Hepatitis B, this one is given immediately. After a month it is given again, and another month after that, SIX vaccines are given to an infant. That might seem like an overwhelming amount, due to further investigation and research from the W.H.O. (World Health Organization), these vaccines will do the same thing regardless if they are spread out, or given all at one time.
Back over twenty years ago, there was a researcher who came to the conclusion that Autism is caused by vaccinations. However, the C.D.C. and the W.H.O. have done a numerous amount of different studies trying to find links between Autism and vaccines. Nothing with found linking those two together, in doing so, they had removed or reduced the amount of thimerosal (which contained mercury) in vaccines around the 2000s to prevent the harm in which mercury does to the human body. Ultimately these disease centers have confirmed Autism is not caused by vaccines, the only real issue with vaccines is the allergic reaction one might have to a vaccine. Which this is a one in a million chance of this happening. (I was the one in a million that was allergic to a vaccine.)
Vaccines do not cause Autism, there is so much evidence supporting the fact Autism is not being caused by vaccines. However, vaccines which cause allergic reactions are the only known issue with vaccines that cause lasting effects to the human body.
Thank You for Reading
As always I would like to thank everyone for reading, I hope you learned something here about vaccines and Autism. IF there is anything you would like to say I would love to hear from you in the comments, thank you again for reading!
I would also like to thank my friend Ben for talking with me and researching this along with me.
It warms my heart that people can have such a civil and calm debate over such a controversial subject.
Personally, I am for vaccinations. Too be quite honest I'm not sure how one can be against vaccinations. Most of the arguments against getting a child vaccinated are nothing but straw arguments and red herrings.
Most of you aren't even saying anything relevant in regards to this topic. You're all just stroking your egos and saying "Yes! You're right!".
But the beautiful thing about anti-vaxxers is that their opinions don't matter because in a few generations they will all be wiped by some archaic disease.
I agree with you, I do not wholeheartedly believe the CDC knows what they are doing, nor do I trust them. The only reason I used them as a source here is that the W.H.O and the CDC both had similar arguments about this case.
Thank you for sharing what you believe, glad to see you actually read it and gave feedback. I agree with you about the CDC and did not even know about the content in the link you posted, thank you for teaching me something.
Thank you for sharing this post with me, I NEVER get flu shots and when I was an infant I got the whooping cough vaccine, which is pertussis, I am allergic to that and I was in pain for three days due to this.
It was a horrific experience for my parents, have not been able to get the vaccine since, and I have been fine.
Alright, even if you don't believe in the cdc's information about this topic, let me relay to you some articles that may be more to your liking.
Here is a article describing how vaccines have no correlation with Autism, "The “anti-vax” movement lost all credibility in 2005 when The Lancet fully retracted the paper that first suggested a link between vaccines and autism after its findings were debunked." http://www.sabin.org/updates/blog/vaccines-dont-cause-autism-0
This is an article about how effective vaccines are and how they are all FDA approved, and includes an example on how measles was basically eradicated because of vaccines. https://www.vaccines.gov/basics/effectiveness/index.html
And if you are still skeptical about this here is an article with around 40 different studies on vaccinations and many of them come to the conclusion that there is no relation between vaccinations and autism.
The so called "study" done by Andrew Wakefield (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Wakefield) that proved vaccinations cause autism was completely faked, all of the data fabricated. Even then there are still some risks about vaccinations but the benefits completely outweigh them, the fact that we can eradicate diseases and such like polio, small pox, whooping cough is incredible, and the fact that people like antivaxers refuse to use these treatments is beyond me.
Absolutely stunning comment, I have gotten some shill posting from this post. I am glad to see you and others like you have realized and done research to prove more on this topic.
Not to mention the fact that studies were done by both the CDC and the W.H.O. on half children with vaccines and the other half not vaccinated. Again no link was shown from vaccines causing Autism.
Thank you for your post, I love reading well-educated responses, with factual evidence to back up their stance.
Post note: I also do apologize for such a late response.
I am usually a forum lurker so I haven't posted anything until now even though I still browse the forums regularly, so don't accuse me of being a troll just because I haven't posted anything until now. I am just relaying you useful information so that you will be able to make an informed decision on how vaccinations are a trustworthy and useful tool for people to use, instead of relying on a study that was made for money instead of being a legitimate study, relying on facts. http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2007/01/01/surprise-surprise-andrew-wakefield-was-p/
Miss, I kindly and humbly request that you refrain from putting labels on people. @freedeeznutz made some valid points and even linked his sources. Instead of countering his points you simply dismiss him by branding him a troll. Come on now Mary, let's keep it civil. Just because he completely shattered your argument doesn't mean you can ignore him.
What relevance does the length of my membership to this community have to do with the validity of my post? Once again you refuse to counter with an intelligent, well thought response. I would have thought a woman such as yourself with as many accolades and achievements as you would have continued this debate, not try to derail it.
as someone who knows a man named ben with autism, i can safely confirm that the number of needles in his arm is the most likely cause of his crippling disability. frankly, anyone who says otherwise is simply a bigoted frankophone.

In all due respect, I do not believe that the CDC is capable of providing an unbiased opinion as to whether or not vaccines cause autism.

It is good you recognize the problem of allergic reactions and vaccines and since you referenced that as a problem I thought I would share my story. https://steemit.com/vaccines/@marymg2014/flu-vaccine-and-a-real-life-adverse-reaction
