Greetings to the awesome people of steemit-land, today i want to talk a bit about the honey, more specifically the honey that bee's produce, but why honey, why not tomatos or onion's soup? well i have been saved more than a couple of times by it, for all the nutrients and benefits it brings, so lets get started:
Honey possesses great natural riches very beneficial for human beings. And it is that something so natural, it has to be good. Not only is it one of the richest natural sweeteners that exist, but many home remedies to alleviate various ailments are made with honey.
Honey is a sweet and viscous fluid produced by bees of the genus Apis, mainly the domestic bee, from the nectar of flowers or from secretions of living parts of plants or from the excretions of plant-sucking insects (aphids). These substances are collected by bees, then transformed by combining them with their own substances, deposited, dehydrated and stored in the combs for their maturation.
Honey has been used and consumed by humans since thousands of years ago, if it is cleanly manipulated it can last stored forever, recently there was found a big amount of honey stored in sealed clay pots, in an Egiptian tomb dated from 4000+ years, after opening one of the pots, it was taken to a lab to do the required tests and the results trown it was in perfect conditions and able to be ingested
some of the properties this incredible substance has, are:
-Natural honey is composed of minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, copper, phosphorus, zinc, selenium, vitamins A, C and B complex. It has nutritional and healing properties that have been known since antiquity.
-On the other hand, the honey can get to sweeten up to 25 times more than ordinary sugar, it is also easy to digest.
-Honey as a remedy is antibiotic, cure rickets, scurvy, anemia, inflammation of the intestine, dropsy, constipation, rheumatism, headaches and dizziness. It is the best sugar that the kidneys accept.
-It represents an excellent source of carbohydrates, so it is considered a highly energetic food. It also works as a powerful cell regenerator.
-It is considered tonic and relaxing by favoring the absorption of tryptophan, serotonin precursor substance, inducing sleep. Therefore, honey combats insomnia.
-It is considered a cerebral restorative for its content in sodium, iron and phosphorus, essential for the good maintenance of the nervous system.
-The regular consumption of honey improves the assimilation of other foods because it is very digestive. Its softening and antiseptic properties, make it an excellent auxiliary in the treatment of flu, sore throat and muscle pain.
-oh come on, it even works as burn treatment(in minor burns of course), if you put your hand on the stove by accident, or leaked some boiling water on your hand, instead of running to the water tap(that would make it worst, the change of temperatures would inflamate the zone inmediately leaving blisters for days) just put some honey on the burn, spread it and leave it there at least 4 min, you'll be surprised with the results, no marks, no blisters and the pain is gone pretty fast
-taking one spoon of honey in the morning works for activating the metabolism and cleansing the digestive system, getting rid of the residual that usually stay for decades, that of course enhances the digestive function giving as result the fast assimilation of the substances your body needs and not the ones that will become into fat later, so yeah it reflects in the balance and body weight
-it boosts your energy, and helps to maintain an optimum energy level during the most demanding work out regime
-improves your immune system and with the help of lemon, it keeps the urine infections at bay
Now a quick guide to know if you are really consuming Honey from Bee's or is a factory fake product
Honey in your food
Honey has high levels of monosaccharides, fructose and glucose, which contains approximately 70 to 80 percent sugar, which gives it its sweet taste - minerals and water make up the rest of its composition.
So, while it's still sugar, it has a slow rate of glucose release, helping to prevent hunger (it gets hungry when blood sugar drops suddenly). So including it in your recipes means you will not go hungry later. Use it in:
-In smoothies and fruit waters - sweeten with a little honey if you want a more sweet touch in your smoothies.
-Healthy peanut butter - instead of sugar, add a touch of honey to your homemade peanut butter.
-Craving for sugar - a teaspoon taken during your worst sugar cravings = problem solved.
-Salad dressing - make your own salad dressing with herbs, lemon, salt and vinegar. Add honey to thicken and add a touch of sweetness to your dressing.
-Caramel sauce - 1 can of coconut milk, 1/2 cup of honey, 1 tablespoon of organic butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and a pinch of salt
-Homemade chocolate - simply substitute sugar for honey for a more exotic and healthy touch.
-Prepare your immune tonic - strengthen your immunological system by preparing a combination of hot water ginger and honey.
some medical uses:
colitis or constipation
Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of honey as a sweetener in 200 grams of any food which will help control the activity of the intestines. Thanks to the presence of levulose and dextrose in honey, you can effectively treat the condition of hemorrhoids.
nervous system treatment
Take 1 teaspoon of honey, six times a day, will provide peace and quiet. You can add in a glass of milk to rest more easily.
intestinal disorders or diarrhea
Dissolve honey in a jug with water and drink as a daily drink. It acts efficiently as an antiseptic of the intestinal flora, especially in the case of nursing infants.
ulcers of the stomach and duodenum
Take a teaspoon of honey, fasting, daily, an hour before breakfast, slowly swallows the honey after being diluted in the mouth. This is a very effective remedy that uses the medicinal properties of honey to treat ulcers.
calm the cough
Boil a lemon in water to cover it for 10 minutes or until the crust softens. Cut in half and extract the juice. Place the lemon juice in a glass. Add 2 tablespoons of honey. Take 1 teaspoon every 4 hours.
Hi @ayakashi145 I wrote a post about tropical honey before https://steemit.com/nature/@natalielo/three-interesting-facts-about-malaysia-honey
In Malaysia, the honey produced by local bee is actually sour and runny due to the flower types and humidity level in our country. The jungle gathered honey has natural foam on the top layer. So I think these characteristics might not be a good indication of the authenticity of the honey. Just my two cents :)

A really interesting post, I knew honey was good for energy and can help hay fever sufferers but I had no idea it had so many uses. My Mother swear by Manuka Honey, so I guess she was right all along.
