TREATMENTS OF MALARIA

The aim of treating malaria is to eliminate the plasmodium parasites from the host's bloodstream. Therefore, the treatment may include:
  • treat according to symptoms

  • take enough rest

  • regular rehydration (could be juice or water) "if you are fit to"

  • warm or cold bath if feeling feverish

  • cover self up with blankets if shivering but no temperature

  • take light foods incase of loss of appetite but at small quantity at regular interval with much friuts intake

  • if vomiting occur then reduce solid intake and take much amount of citrus fruits as tolerated

  • correct and complete intake of prescribed medication

NOTE: Anti-malaria drugs are accessible than it was in the past, because 'Arteemisinin based (combination therapy) (ACT) is now recommended by WHO (World Health Organisation) for treating uncomplicated malaria due to its quick reduction of plasmodium parasites reaction in blood stream.

Arteemisinin is expected to do the parasite reduction within the 1st three (3) days while the partner drugs helps to eliminate the rest.

WARNING:::: WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN FAKE ANTI-MALARIA DRUGS THAT ARE BEING DISTRIBUTED WITH MAJORITY FOUND IN AFRICA

PREVENTION OF MALARIA

Just as the saying that prevention is better than cure, I will be listing the preventive measure so as not be down with malaria.
  • bush clearing around the house

  • drain stagnant or pools of water far away from the house because mosquitoes like to breed in them

  • if there is any stagnant water at all, pour kerosene or oil over it to prevent mosquitoes from breeding

  • good drainage for water in the house

  • put mosquito screen on windows and doors to prevent mosquitoes from entering into the house

  • use mosquito nets over beds and sleep under mosquito net

  • insecticide spray can be use to kill mosquitoes

  • try to avoid mosquito bite

  • try to use preventive drugs prescribed by your doctor.

Let us all try and practice the preventive measures mentioned above so as to help in minimising the spread of malaria especially in Africam, because the mortality rate caused by malaria is high in this part of the world.

Thanks for taking your time in going through this...I hope you learnt something from this.
