Yep, Pine needles pack more vitamin C than oranges and many other goodies that make this tasty concoction good for you.

We had to do this week-long nature education thing in 6th grade (I hated it....I'm really not an outdoor kind of girl). One of the things I remember them teaching us was what foods we could eat if we ever found ourselves lost in the woods. This being Florida, the choices aren't exactly abundant, but one of the things that we were told we could eat was pine needles. Green ones. They had to be green. The instructors even had us all find a green pine needle and chew on it. It wasn't great, but not terrible, either. It had a pretty mild, citrus taste.

How about wild clover

Hi, glad you said 'steep' rather than 'boil' as I've heard that boiling the needles with destroy the vit C.
Cat-Tails would be a good one to do, lots of uses (food and otherwise).
Loved the video btw, light, informative and entertaining :)

Never heard of cat tails for that, I'll check it out! Thanks

Cat-Tails have edible roots, shoots and pollen. The fluffy 'sausage heads' are a good flash-tinder or can be charred for flint n steel fire starting :)

What!? I can't wait to try this.
I wonder what kinds of flowers (that are less commin) would make good tea. Have you found any other ingredients that do well like this?
