I don't remember who it was that first alerted me to the craziness / benefits of deliberately taking cold showers.
I think it might have been Tim Ferris.
Anyway, whoever it is, I'm sold on them.
The Benefits
1.) Increases Your Alertness
But that falls under the ....
.. category
2.) Improves the health of Your Hair and Skin ( well, more skin than hair in my case, since "follicular failure" is at hand for me )
3.) Improves Immunity and Circulation
4.) Stimulates Weight Loss through building brown fat
5.) Speeds Up Muscle Soreness and Recovery
6.) Eases Stress
7.) Relieves Depression

The major reason for failure to keep this up as a habit, is for people to associate turning that Shower handle to the Cold direction with discomfort.
You don't have to, it's your choice.
Just feel the coldness but without resisting the fact that you're doing something this "crazy".
It's a DIFFERENT sensation.. not a more unpleasant one.
You think it's unpleasant, because you know what happens when you shoot that cold liquid on your body, from the last time you tried:
But that's just something different, not something worse. Don't resist it. It's just what your body does to adjust to the temperature.
Be a Badass, it's that simple, and just experience the cold shower.
More than just the health benefits I listed on top.. you get the added benefit of when you to go jungle resort trips to Costa Rica, or somewhere else where there is no hot water, you're equipped AF.
You've already been doing it.
Or when your obnoxious apartment manager doesn't warn you that the hot water will be shut off in time for you to get up.. it doesn't matter..
.. because you're a beast
