Monday's have been given a bad rap. ITs like the day of dread...for whatever reason we as a culture have reduced ourselves down to 4.5 days of monotonous disdain - going thru motions, content in complacency, and comforted by the mindless complaints of society. Its seeped into near every thread in society...our social media, our advertisements, our schools, even into our professional environment with how our employers treat us.
Start the day my staring at this kid...give it 5 seconds...
Take a moment and think differently, throw off the garbage trying to hold you down today and make a choice to attack the day. Make a list of 5 things you want to accomplish today - and let two of them be defined as ridiculous...Heres mine...
- Smooch my wife for 10 consecutive seconds...twice
- Do 100 pushups...at work
- Encourage an old friend on the FB machine
- Laugh with my kids without a purpose (its hard and generally awkward to do this with adults...)
- Anytime someone tells me thank you today, I am going to replace the appropriate response of "your welcome" with a loud "boo-yah" - possibly including a fist pump...
Do it - live differently today - you could use a shake up, so could your friends, workplace and family...and mondays are not that bad - cut em some slack
