With every successfully launched techie product (websites, an app - just an instance), there's an amount of devotion given to that project before it became something you can appreciate, the sleepless nights(less than 3-4hours of sleep, but my fellow techies won't even hear of that), the constant brainstorming and pressure to develop something creative.

(OK I know some other fields of work also undergo strenuous processes too, but Biko none of them sit down in front of laptop debugging codes that was bugged themselves, dealing with clients that are just EP, etc).

Well, what I'm trying to say is that being a techie can be so stressful; mentally and physically. There is so much work to do, but only with a limited time,...

These are some of the problems techies deal with:

  • Depression: even if techies don't admit it, some fall into depression occasionally.
  • Illnesses brought out by overload of stress.

I know I don't know much, but the ones I get to know make me worry. We really need to find a way to help ourselves, I'm not even sure on how to go about this, but it is something worth looking into.

We need to encourage:

  • Special health meetups/programs for techies. (some maybe involving on-site medical attention/advice from medical practitioners and collaboration of sorts) something along that line...

We all need appreciate the effort of techies in our communities, without them we won't be having the versatile internet and apps. They think of logical ways to solve our problems using their algorithms.

I hope this message reach you well.
